| Florida Isles Fan | 1,204 |
I have been an Islander fan for as long as I can remember. The thing I miss most is being able to go the games at the barn. I do go to the games in Tampa when the team is in town. I am very passionate about this team and what goes on with it. I try to be open minded when writing about them even though that may be hard sometimes. I hope to see this blog grow and I look forward to your comments and suggestions.

A perspective about the Islanders, Hockey and other ramblings from Gary Harding, a former Islanders Booster Club President and season ticket holder since 1989. The Blog Name, basically tells you where I sit. From Row B, Seat 1 in Section 317, I watch the boys that wear my home on their sweaters play hockey over 40 times (hopefully more) every season. |

My thanks to so many for their kind words and support at both Islanders-Sound Tigers and Hockey's Future. It was my honor to own and operate my Islander-Sound Tigers mailing list on yahoo for seven years. It was also my pleasure to be the Islanders Editor for three years and board moderator at Hockey's Future for five years. Both sites during my time survived the lockout, were among the most popular websites and that was thanks to many of the great members we had at both sites. New York Islander Fan Central is written based on my perspective on the NY Islanders. For those who know me well enough by now this will be one of the best updated blogs in all of cyberspace with tons of quality topics and discussions, expect daily updates and commentary on all subjects related to the New York Islanders. |

Welcome! Islanders Castaway is written based on my perspective on the NY Islanders while I am removed from Long Island for the entire hockey season. From Boston, I write regular game commentary as well as offer my opinions on Islanders news, rumors, and other hockey experiences I've had during my tenure in Boston. This blog wouldn't be possible without the continued support of my fellow fans! Thank you for reading! -Andy Facini |

My name is Michael Schuerlein and I grew up in Bethpage, NY. I have played hockey for a majority of my life - and continue to play in several roller and ice hockey leagues throughout the year. I am not entirely new to the blog scene; I am currently a Photographer and Contributing Writer for two automotive websites, www.truckblog.com and www.musclecarblog.com, and I have also been published in several automotive magazines. I am a current Isles Season ticket holder, and have been a fan of the Isles my entire life. I love to read about the latest Islanders news and rumors, part of the inspiration for creating this website. Despite my involvement with the automotive websites, I am not a professional journalist, or even pretend to be one - I am just an Air Conditioning Mechanic who happens to enjoy writing and photography. The automotive stuff was a hobby that grew into something I never thought it would - much as Islesblogger has become in it’s own respect. Within days of creating this site in Mid-August 2007, I was notified by the Islanders that my website had been selected as 1 of 12 to become a charter member of their Blog Box. It really was an exciting moment, but it was one of many! In February 2008, myself and several of the other bloggers brought you live updates from the Coliseum on trade deadline day. We were able to provide trade information as it happened and were able to interview the Coach and the General Manager along side the media and one on one. Our “story” was also covered by Newsday’s Jim Baumbach, who spent the day with us blogging himself. In June 2008, Tom Liodice and I made the trip up to Ottawa, Canada to cover the 2008 NHL Entry Draft with Media Credentials in hand. It was a huge step for the Blog Box, because we were essentially “on the road” covering the team. Our adventure was captured both on Newyorkislanders.com and on Islanders TV during that weekend. In July 2008, the Islanders asked Tom Liodice and I to attend one of the many open houses to interview 2008 1st round draft pick Josh Bailey and veteran Doug Weight in front of a packed audience. The experience was once again up front and center on Newyorkislanders.com and on Islanders TV. Moving into the 2008/2009 season, my second as a member of the Blog Box - I feel as if I have learned a great wealth of information about how things work in the media world. I am a more comfortable around the media, the players, and the organization - which is a big plus if you wish to maintain a successful relationship. I also have a few writing ideas that will keep Islesblogger unique and fresh! |

es·o·ter·ic /ˌɛsəˈtɛrɪk/ adj - understood by or meant for only the select few who have special knowledge or interest. It was the 70's when the NY Islanders Esoteric started. My cousin & his friends taught me how to be the hockey fan I am today. Back then we didn't have computers but w/a stubby pencil, a black composition notebook & 100 or so players to track the Esoteric was born. Nowadays, we've 430 New York Islanders to process through the Esoteric. Lets Go NY Islanders. |

Dee Karl grew up in countless neighborhoods of Brooklyn and Queens but became an “Islander” when her family finally settled in Jericho in the late '70s. Coming from a family of musicians rather than sports fans, she missed the Islanders’ dynasty years even though she lived in their own backyard. It’s a 45-minute drive to the Coliseum, but it’s a small price to pay for NHL Hockey. The love for hockey came in 1992 when she bought a bar and realized sports HAD to be on the TV. By 2003 she had become a passionate Islanders fan. She entered and won the 2004 NHL 7th Man contest for the NY Islanders . |

Hey guys! My memories of those games involved Nyisles the mascot, the epic fail- fisherman jersey, my obsession with Kenny Jönsson, and the chants for Steve Webb. These days I'm a frequent Loudviller, hitting up the NVMC as much as I can. Hell, I'm one of those fans you see standing outside during the freezing nights of December for 3 hours to see my Isles for $10 in section 330! Passion, Sarcasm, and Fishsticks... what more could a girl want? |

After developing a quick love for the game during my freshman year in high school, I began playing hockey as much as possible. This eventually led to coaching and officiating while following my favorite team, the New York Islanders. During my high school years I reported about the teams that I played for in the school paper and began blogging about the Isles in my college years that followed while majoring in English with a History Minor at Stony Brook University. With the youth movement in full swing I have begun covering the seasonal development of all the Islanders, particularly the players who are the future of the franchise. The goal of my blog is to provide a realistic approach as what to expect out of the Isles younger players and how actions over the course of the season will affect them while monitoring their progress as well. I am a member of the NYI Blog Box and my site can be accessed by clicking the link below. |

Hello Hockey Fans. My name is Stephen Herrmann I am the owner and founder of IslesNation.Com, as well as the co-host of the IslesNation.Com talk show. I'm a busy guy as you can see. To start off, I've been a hockey fan since I was 5. I wasn't too crazy about it till I turned 7-8 years old. My brother Bryan got me into the sport. I still remember the first Islander game he made me watch. I remember watching guys like Berard and Bertuzzi in Islander uniforms. I grew up in Commack, Long Island. It's where I've lived most of my life and still live today. I love it here. I attend Commack High School and I also attend Flight School after school everyday. I also play Hockey. I'm a goaltender. So I do allot as you can see. Me and my friend Pete thought of an idea of making one of my old websites and turning it into a Islander website. So knowing me I thought of all these ideas that he thought were crazy at the time that have turned into reality. |
